Who are our users?

Being an analytics company we like stats and especially stats about our own app.  Recently, we noticed something very interesting about the types of people who are use SWIX.

The first thing we learned is that they are not IE users and that's not because we don't support IE. :)  In fact, just about 6% of SWIX users access our app with IE.  Personal bias aside, I think this is great news because SWIX looks so much better on just about every other browser on earth.

The other cool thing we learned is that Chrome and Safari make up over 45% of browsers that access SWIX.  Both Chrome and Safari make up just over 22% each which I think is pretty high.  As expected though, Firefox makes up almost 47% of usage.

The Safari number makes sense when looking at SWIX usage by OS where 43% of SWIX users are accessing us via a Mac or iPad.   As expected 56% of users are accessing SWIX via Windows.

So what does this tell us – A good portion of our users are technical (chrome) and creative (Apple, Safari).  That's a nice mix.

Note:  Craig's definition of technical is that they know how to change their default browser. :)
